Vote Ben Davis for City Council
Whitefish is a great place to live. And not by accident. Decades of sound planning and determined perseverance by both a dedicated community and a responsive City Council have resulted in a town we are proud to call home. Recently Whitefish has been flooded with new residents who are eager to enjoy the Whitefish lifestyle. This has intensified our housing crisis and sped up the emergence of many other problems related to sudden growth.
Fortunately, we have a City Council whose members are up to the task of solving these challenges. I am writing to express my support for Ben Davis for City Council. Ben has shown a willingness to tackle one of our toughest issues — our need for people who live and work in Whitefish to find affordable housing, either for rent or for purchase. Ben began his service to Whitefish on the Whitefish Housing Authority Board, which he chaired. He serves on the Climate Action Plan Committee and has chaired the Strategic Housing Steering Committee for over four years. The Housing Committee has guided significant increases in affordable housing including the Alpenglow Apartments and the snow lot townhomes, which will break ground soon.
As a member of the housing committee, I have seen Ben at work close-up. He is a careful, thoughtful, problem-solver who works hard in the community’s interest. He has no hidden agenda, just a desire to keep making the town where he is raising his family a good place to live.
Do not be fooled by brand new residents who want you to believe that they know what is best for Whitefish. Please join me in voting for Ben Davis for City Council.
I am also casting my ballot for Andy Feury, whose knowledge and experience are especially needed in this challenging time.
Rhonda Fitzgerald owns the Garden Wall Inn and serves on the city’s Strategic Housing Steering Committee.
