No. 2613 WHITEFISH CITY COUNCIL NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING The regular meeting of the Whitefish City Council will be held on Monday, October 18, 2021 at 7:10 p.m. at Whitefish City Hall located at 418 East Second Street and via Virtual Webex Video Conferencing. Instructions to participate remotely will be provided on the City Council agenda once posted on the City's webpage at www.cityofwhitefish.org. During the meeting, the Council will hold a public hearing to consider an ordinance to create a residential curbside recycling program. The program will be mandatory for single family homes and duplexes as well as many condos, townhomes, and apartments within City limits. The new service will involve bi-weekly (every other week) collection of single stream residential recyclable solid waste including flattened cardboard and paperboard, aluminum/tin/steel cans, and newspaper, magazines, office paper, catalogs, and junk mail. Documents pertaining to this agenda item are available for review at Whitefish City Hall during regular business hours and the full packet along with public comments and staff report will be available on the City's webpage: https://www.cityofwhitefish.org/AgendaCenter under Mayor & City Council on October 13, 2021. No. 2614 Notice is hereby given that in Flathead County, on November 2, 2021 a Municipal General Election will be held in Whitefish City for the following purpose: voting on City Council and Municipal Judge, along with a ballot measure to consider "the question of whether, to approve the existing 3% resort tax for an additional twenty-year term, thereby extending the expiration date to January 31, 2045, with the resulting resort tax revenues to be used starting February 1, 2025, as follows: (i) 25% for property tax relief; (ii) 58% for the repair, maintenance, and improvement of streets, storm sewers, all underground utilities, sidewalks, curbs and gutters; (iii) 10% for improvements and maintenance of bicycle and pedestrian paths and other park acquisitions, capital improvements, and equipment; (iv) 2% for the maintenance and replacement of existing improvements of the Whitefish Trail with any amounts not expended within five fiscal years available for the maintenance of City bicycle and pedestrian paths; and (v) 5% for merchants' costs of administration". This election will be conducted solely by Mail Ballot. Polls will not be open. Ballots are mailed to all Active Registered voters of the City of Whitefish. If you have questions regarding your ballot or registration status, contact the Flathead County Election office at 758-5536 and you will be directed on how to receive your ballot.
