The Whitefish High School speech and debate team traveled to Hamilton last weekend to compete in the second invite of the season.

The team was led by the pair of Addie Blackaby and Zoe Tremper, who placed third in the public forum debate.

In the Lincoln-Douglas debate, Fiona Shanahan took seventh place overall.

The Whitefish team is just getting started this season after graduating several seniors who consistently placed last year.

“I am excited to see the potential in this team,” Whitefish coach Sara Mueller said. “We have quite a few first time competitors who took some risks to start competing. I’m looking forward to seeing us continue to grow.”

Whitefish speech and debate is back in action Friday and Saturday at the Missoula Invite.
