No. 2590 WHITEFISH CITY COUNCIL NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING The regular meeting of the Whitefish City Council will be held on Monday, May 17, 2021 at 7:10 pm via Virtual WebEx Video Conferencing. Instructions to participate will be located on the City Council agenda once posted on the City's webpage: https://www.cityofwhitefish.org/AgendaCenter. During the meeting, the Council will hold 4 public hearings, which are as follows: * A request by the City of Whitefish to update the Extension of Services Plan with a revised urban growth boundary. The plan is a guide for future provision of City services to areas outside the city currently not served and for territories to be annexed. * An ordinance to create a curbside recycling program. The program will involve bi-weekly (every other week) collection of single stream recyclable residential solid waste including flattened cardboard and paperboard, aluminum/tin/steel cans, and newspaper, magazines, office paper, catalogs, and junk mail. * An Emergency Ordinance to repeal Emergency Ordinance No. 21-03 providing for remote meetings of the City Council and City Committees and Boards. * A resolution to support the Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act. The act is H.R. 2307 which will help reduce America's carbon pollution to net zero by 2050. It puts a fee on carbon pollution, creating a level playing field for clean energy. The money collected from fossil fuel companies goes to Americans in the form of a monthly 'carbon cash back' payment so that everyone can afford the transition. Documents pertaining to these agenda items are available for review at Whitefish City Hall, 418 E Second Street, during regular business hours and the full packet along with public comments and staff report will be available on the City's webpage: https://www.cityofwhitefish.org/AgendaCenter under Mayor & City Council, May 13, 2021. Inquiries are welcomed. Interested parties are invited to attend the virtual meeting and make known their views and concerns. Comments in writing may be forwarded to the Whitefish City Council at the above address prior to the hearing or via email: mhowke@cityofwhitefish.org, no later than 4:00 p.m, May 17, 2021. For questions or further information regarding these proposals, phone 406-863-2400. WHITEFISH CITY COUNCIL John Muhlfeld, Mayor May 12, 2021 MNAXLP -------------------------------------------
