The first train of the new Pacific Zip special stopped in Whitefish in 1971. Norman M. Lorentzsen, BN vice president of operations, and Fred Huleen, of Seattle made a plaque presentation to Whitefish Mayor Art LaBrie. It was one of eight commemorative plaques presented along the way. (Pilot file)
