Byrd winner of Voisin freestyle scholarship
Liam Byrd of Coram is the winner of the Maggie Voisin Freestyle Scholarship for the 2021/2022 season.
Byrd regularly frequents the slopes of Whitefish Mountain Resort, and competes on the USASA’s Inland Northwest Freeride Series in slopestyle and rail jams events
In her congratulatory letter to Byrd, Voisin noted “I could tell you really enjoy the thrill of working hard, pushing yourself to learn new tricks, and to compete at your very best. I could also feel the gratitude in your words, and that is one of the most important traits to have while participating in the sport of skiing.”
Voisin continued, “your letter very much reminded me of my younger self, while I was working hard and having fun to keep progressing.”
Voisin is an alumnus of the Whitefish Mountain Resort Freestyle team, and an Explore Whitefish sponsored athlete. She is a current member of the US Freeski team, two-time Olympian and a seven time X Games Medalist.
This is the third Maggie Voisin Freestyle Scholarship that has been awarded, which covers the annual freestyle team fees, and a complimentary season pass to Whitefish Mountain Resort.
Byrd is coached by Trevor Hattabaugh.
