Whitefish allows fireworks on July 3 and July 4
Personal fireworks can be discharged in Whitefish for two days for the Fourth of July holiday — on July 3 and July 4.
Fireworks can be used from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on July 3 and from 11 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. on July 4 in the city limits.
Fireworks can be discharged on paved city streets that are not arterial or collector streets, under the city ordinance. Fireworks can not be discharged in parks, within 1,000 feet of a hospital, nursing home or assisted living facility, and within 300 feet of a gas station.
Cleanup of firework debris is also required.
Violations of the city ordinance regarding fireworks can result in a fine of $500.

Columbia Falls and Kalispell both don’t allow the use of fireworks. Flathead County allows for fireworks to be shot off on personal property, but they are banned from use in county parks.
Fireworks are illegal on public lands including Forest Service, state parks, Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation land and in Glacier National Park.
