Whitefish Community Library restores services

| June 23, 2021 1:00 AM

The Whitefish Community Library has restored many of its services that it offered prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Use of the copier, scanner, and microfilm reader, magazines and newspapers are all available, as are the library restrooms.

Library hours are currently Monday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The library is still closed on Saturday, but expects to return when the library is at full staff again.

The community room remains temporarily unavailable while the library completes a remodeling project.

Masks are recommended in the library, but not required. Curbside service is still available.

The library took advantage of the slower pace during the last 13 months to assess and enhance the collection, according to Joey Kositzky, director of the library.

Library users will find a large selection of new materials to browse, she notes.

The library also created a new website that allows access to the library’s website on any personal device.

The summer reading incentive program is in full swing as Children’s Youth Services Librarian Mary Drew has created a wide range of educational programs to fill the summer months. In addition, the library is partnering with city Parks and Recreation to offer a “Summer Reading Challenge at City Parks” program. Stop by the library to obtain a reading log.

Detailed information on all summer activities are listed on the website at whitefishlibrary.org.
