No. 2599 CITY OF WHITEFISH NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING The regular meeting of the Whitefish City Council will be held on Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at 7:10 pm in the City Council Chambers or via Virtual Webex Video Conferencing. Instructions to participate virtually will be located on the City Council agenda once posted on the City's webpage: https://www.cityofwhitefish.org/AgendaCenter. The Whitefish City Council will hold three public hearings for the purpose of receiving public input, as follows: 1. A request to vacate and abandon an improved public alley located between Lots 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5 of Block 45, Whitefish and Lot 1 of South Central Subdivision pursuant to ยง 7-14-4114 M.C.A 2. Consideration of adopting an increase for fees for public skate and ice skate rental at the Stumptown Ice Den. 3. A proposed resolution of the Whitefish City Council to submit to the electors of the City qualified to vote the question of whether, to approve the existing resort tax for an additional twenty-year term past the current expiration date, thereby extending the resort tax through January 31, 2045, with the resort tax revenues resulting from the 3% rate starting February 1, 2025, to be used as follows: (i) 25% for property tax relief; (ii) 58% for the repair, maintenance, and improvement of streets, storm sewers, all underground utilities, sidewalks, curbs and gutters; (iii) 10% for improvements and maintenance of bicycle and pedestrian paths and other park acquisitions, capital improvements, and equipment; (iv) 3% for the maintenance and replacement of existing improvements of the Whitefish Trail; and (v) 5% for the merchants' costs of administration. Documents pertaining to these agenda items are available for review at Whitefish City Hall, 418 E 2nd Street, during regular business hours and the full packet along with public comments and staff reports will be available on the City's webpage: https://www.cityofwhitefish.org/AgendaCenter. Individuals may appear or submit written testimony at the public hearing to comment on the proposals. No. 2598 McStryker Timber Sale: The Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation (DNRC), Stillwater Unit is proposing to harvest 6-8 million board feet (MMbf) from within a 5,850-acre project area approximately 5 miles north of Olney, Montana, in the Stillwater State Forest, in Flathead County. The proposed project would generate revenue for the Common Schools, MSU 2nd Grant, Public Buildings, and State Industrial School trusts.
