The Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation is closing the Lower Whitefish Road between the Delrey Road and Upper Whitefish Road the week of June 21.

This temporary closure is for public safety while workers conduct forest-management activities along the Lower Whitefish Road. Tentative hours for road closures are from 4 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. An alternate route to Upper Whitefish Lake is located across from the town of Olney.

The gate will be locked between 4 a.m. and 3 p.m.

The DNRC Trust Land Management Division manages Montana’s forested state trust lands to generate long-term sustainable revenue to benefit educational institutions, while promoting healthy, resilient, and diverse forests for future generations.
