Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats return to Big Mountain Ranch in August

| July 28, 2021 1:00 AM

Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats will return to Whitefish to perform at Big Mountain Ranch on August 13.

Rateliff and his band are based out of Denver, Colorado and are known for an upbeat, soulful sound that combines folk, Americana and rhythm-and-blues. The singer songwriter headlined the Outrider Presents inaugural Under The Big Sky festival in 2019.

This year’s performance in Whitefish is part of an extensive run of shows including an annual stop at Red Rocks Amphitheater as well as performances at Willie Nelson’s Outlaw Music Festival, Nashville’s First Bank Amphitheater and Raleigh’s Red Hat Amphitheater. The show on Aug. 13 is one of two Montana stops from their tour, the other being in Bonner the following evening.

Nathaniel Rateliff released a solo album called And It’s Still Alright in February 2020. Throughout the pandemic he remained active in the music scene through various streaming events and fundraisers, including heading up the Colorado Music Relief Fund which raised over $800,000 for musicians and crew members in Colorado. In September 2020, Rateliff & The Night Sweats played a six-night string of performances at Red Rocks to a reduced capacity crowd of only 125 attendees. During the run of socially-distanced shows Rateliff recorded Red Rocks 2020, a live album that was recently released.

A live roughstock rodeo is scheduled at the same time on the grounds of the concert venue at Big Mountain Ranch in August. Doors will open at 5 p.m. with the rodeo getting underway at 6 p.m. The concert will be open to all ages.
