City Council preview for Aug. 2

Whitefish City Council meets on Monday, Aug. 2 beginning at 7:10 p.m. at City Hall.

Individuals are encouraged to provide written public comment; to the City Clerk, Michelle Howke at mhowke@cityofwhitefish.org or deliver by 4 p.m. on Aug. 2, at City Hall in the Utility Drop Box.

Items on the agenda, subject to change:

  • Consideration of a request from Project Whitefish Kids for a sign variance for Smith Fields Sports Complex located at 1701 Hospital Way.
  • Consideration of a request from Maureen Casey for a Conditional Use Permit for a guest house located at 350 Armory Road.
  • Consideration of an ordinance amending the Whitefish Legacy Homes Program and the Affordable Housing Subdivision Regulations of the Whitefish City Code to modify the formerly mandatory inclusionary zoning program to a voluntary program with incentive.
  • Consideration of a request from Eris Huemer and William Winans for a Whitefish Lake and Lakeshore Variance to place two docks at a property located in the county at 434 Pharma Road.
  • Consideration of an emergency ordinance placing a Stage II Fire Restriction within City limits with an immediate effective date.

During a work session at 5:45 p.m., Council is set to discuss a recommendation from the Climate Action Plan Standing Committee for creating a sustainability coordinator position.

During a work session at 6:15 p.m., Council is set to discuss on marijuana sales, storefronts and manufacturing.
