The Don “K” car dealership and Subaru made a donation of $5,000 to the Humane Society of Northwest Montana at the conclusion of the annual October Subaru Loves Pets program.

For every pet adopted during the Subaru Loves Pets month, Subaru and Don “K” donated $100 so the organization can continue their work to help dogs and cats in need of forever homes to find those perfect families.

Lori Heatherington, executive director of the Humane Society of Northwest Montana, thanked Don “K” and Subaru for their generous donation.

“This donation will mean we can continue our no-kill commitment to find caring, loving homes for orphaned cats and dogs and ending the destruction of healthy, adoptable pets in our area,” she said.

Kevin Kaltschmidt, General Manager of Don “K” Whitefish, said the humane society is one of many nonprofit organizations the company supports every year and Subaru customers provide a unique opportunity to help locally.

“Our commitment to our local community stems from the fact that we live here, raise our own families here and, being the only remaining locally owned dealership in the Flathead, we care deeply about those who live and work here,” he said. “Lori and her team touch so many lives both human and pets as they help rescue these gentle creatures and unite them with fur-ever families. We are grateful for the opportunity to do what we can to guarantee their success.”
