No. 2571 CITY OF WHITEFISH NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON SOLID WASTE RATES NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at its regular meeting on Monday, February 1, 2021, at 7:10 PM, held remotely via WebEx, the Whitefish City Council will conduct a public hearing for the purpose of receiving public input regarding the proposed solid waste rates. On January 4, 2021, the City Council approved a contract with Montana Waste Systems, Inc. dba North Valley Refuse and locally referred to as Republic Services. The five-year contract provides that billing for garbage services will be administered by the City beginning March 16, 2021. For the City to bill for garbage services, rates must be adopted by the City Council. The proposed rates are equivalent to the rates currently charged by Republic Services so rate payers will not see an increase in the rates for service. Individuals may attend the live WebEx meeting to provide comment or submit written testimony for the hearing to comment on the proposed solid rates.
