DREAM adaptive holds virtual Snow Ball event

| February 24, 2021 1:00 AM

The DREAM Adaptive Recreation Annual Snow Ball fundraiser will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., on Friday, March 5 in a virtual format.

The event will be a live-streamed program hosted by emcee Janice Lake and Auctioneer Bobby Roshon. The event will include online silent and live auctions, local musicians Big Sky City Lights, participant stories, guest speakers, and a Raise your Paddle opportunity. Register for the free event at www.dreamdaptive.org/events.

The first 200 registrants will receive a special gift bag for the evening including a DREAM mug, hot chocolate, marshmallows and a nip of Glacier Distillery Whiskey.

Funds from last year’s Snow Ball made quite an impact by creating nearly 1,500 opportunities for adaptive athletes in a variety of sports: alpine skiing and snowboarding, Nordic skiing, mountain biking, kayaking, paddle boarding, motorized watersports, interpretive trail walks in Glacier National Park, rafting and so much more. The Raise your Paddle also funded a long-overdue program truck, DREAM notes, as demand for programs increases so has the need.

DREAM organizers says that support is vital for them to continue to provide empowering and inclusive services. This past year they’ve provided more program days than ever before even as the pandemic meant keeping group sizes small and finding creative ways to meet growing needs.

The Snow Ball event provides roughly one-third of DREAM’s operating funds while extending great community awareness for our organization, organizer note.

Sponsors include Glacier Bank, Whitefish Credit Union, Whitefish Mountain Resort and Malmquist Construction.
