WTC holds auditions for ‘The Revolutionists’
The Whitefish Theatre Company is holding auditions for their production of “The Revolutionists” on Dec. 13 and 14 at 7:30 p.m. at the O’Shaughnessy Center in Whitefish.
Please arrive early to fill out an audition application, fill out a waiver form, and review the script. Please enter at the north side of the building near WTC’s parking lot and conference room. Masks are highly recommended when you enter the building, although you will be able to remove them during your audition. Please do not attend auditions if you are feeling sick.
In this fresh and fast-paced comedy by award-winning playwright Lauren Gunderson, a quartet of beautiful, badass women raise hell in Paris during the French Revolution.
The Revolutionists are real-life characters that include playwright Olympe De Gouge, assassin Charlotte Corday, Haitian rebel Marianne Angelle, and the one-and-only Marie “Let Them Eat Cake” Antoinette who conspire to avoid losing their heads — literally — during the insanity of the Reign of Terror. This bold and blisteringly funny play is about violence and legacy, art and activism, feminism and terrorism, compatriots and chosen sisters, and how we actually go about changing the world.
Auditions are being held for three female roles in the show, ages 20s to 50s. Pages from the script will be provided at the audition. If you would like to familiarize yourself with the script, it is available at the theatre and valley public libraries.
Kim Krueger is the director for this production. Rehearsals begin the week of Jan. 13, 2022 and will be held Monday through Friday from 6/7 p.m. to 9/10 p.m. There are seven performances over two weekends on Feb. 24-27 and March 3-5.
