Board Candidates

As the current season breezes along and we enter into August it’s time to start thinking about candidates for the Whitefish Lake Golf Association Board of Directors to replace the current members whose terms are expiring. To run for the board you must have been a member at Whitefish Lake Golf Club for a minimum of five years and be 18 years or older. There are two seats being vacated this coming year and if you are interested please contact Terry Nelson at terry@golfwhitefish.com. The Annual Business meeting of the board is set for October 9th.

Put your Ego away

When playing a par three hole, many players will announce what club they are hitting. Forget what you heard and make sure the club you hit is enough club to get on the green with your normal swing. If your buddy hits an eight iron and you need a seven, so be it, stick with the one that gets you there. The name of the game is your score, not how far you hit your clubs.

Member/guest Tournament

We now have 89 teams registered for the member/guest tournament on Aug. 28 and 29. There may be a few spots still open but you must act now to get in as the field will soon be closed. This two-day tournament is one of the best events to be found. One day of two-person net best ball and one with a modified Stapleford scoring system using both partners’ scores.
