Police Calls: Caller wants extra patrol so they can sleep on porch safely
Wednesday, April 7
10:12 a.m. A caller said someone had a ransom note and had shutdown and entripted records at a Whitefish business.
10:27 a.m. A protester outside a clinic on Spokane Avenue said a black car purposely swerved trying to hit them.
11:24 a.m. A caller said they were advised by a neighbor that someone was in their house on Third Street while out of town.
12:25 p.m. Someone said a hotel on third street took their money but did not offer a room.
3:17 p.m. Someone in a black expedition vehicle was rear ended on Highway 40.
7:26 p.m. A caller said they were going to sleep on their porch tonight and wanted extra patrol in the area.
10:29 p.m. Someone was screaming in a room at a hotel on Spokane Avenue and would be removed if they didn’t quiet down.
11:16 p.m. A caller said a large dog outside was barking near Karrow Avenue.
Thursday, April 8
12:32 a.m. Someone needed help finding their spouse in the parking garage.
9:14 a.m. A Scamp RV was parked illegally near Whitefish Avenue.
10:55 a.m. A vehicle was parked in a no parking zone on JP Road.
1:18 p.m. A caller accidentally dialed police while heading to a coffee shop in downtown Whitefish.
8:04 p.m. Someone’s touchscreen on their phone was giving them troubles as they accidentally called the police.
11:28 p.m. A caller said they felt intimidated by a neighbor in a neighborhood off Edgewood Place.
Friday, April 9
12:56 p.m. A caller said someone who bought their car recently used the caller’s insurance when in an accident on Highway 93.
1:58 p.m. Someone accidentally dialed 911 while packing moving boxes.
7:02 p.m. Someone on Baker Avenue said they were sleeping on their porch.
8:04 p.m. A caller said they received a parking ticket after only being there for 30 minutes on Central Avenue.
Saturday, April 10
1:41 p.m. A SUV hit a young pedestrian on Spokane Avenue.
2:08 p.m. Someone was setting their emergency programming on their Garmin and accidentally set it off.
2:55 p.m. A caller from out of state said they were worried about their elderly mother driving.
9:43 p.m. A caller said their child was refusing to leave with them near Third Street.
Sunday, April 11
1:42 a.m.A caller told dispatch that it appeared as if a police officer needed backup near Blanchard Lake Road.
12:13 p.m. Someone was walking with a glass beer bottle in the middle of Highway 93.
2:25 p.m. A caller said three kids were in a golf card speeding and swerving near Skyles Place.
3:44 p.m. A maroon Subaru was driving around the neighborhood at high speeds near Skyles Place.
5:28 p.m. Someone came into the police station wanting a breathalyzer test done.
5:39 p.m. Someone accidentally dialed 911 then stated their dog did it.
9:42 p.m. A caller said a vehicle was out in the lane on Central Avenue and the driver was asleep.
Monday, April 12
12:51 p.m. A caller said their neighbor confronted them about making noise complaints last summer near Denver Street.
3:05 p.m. A caller wanted to thank the police for extra patrol since they have been sleeping on their porch on Baker Avenue.
5:36 p.m. A Mazda truck and a Ford escape were in a fender bender on Spokane Avenue.
6:14 p.m. When the dispatcher asked how they could help a caller on Baker Avenue, they said, “keep on praying for me.”
6:45 p.m. Someone was trying to turn the volume down on their phone which activated the emergency call setting.
Tuesday, April 13
12:57 a.m. A caller was grateful for the police talking to them and wanted an “air hug.”
9:56 a.m. Someone called to report a cat bite near River Lakes Parkway.
1:38 p.m. A manager of a business on Highway 93 said a young person attempted to shoplift and got away with about $6.50 worth of items.
5:57 p.m. A caller said someone in front of Whitefish City Hall was stepping in front of moving vehicles.
10:16 p.m. A caller said someone was just standing in their yard on Fifth Street.
