Golfers start swinging on opening day at WLGC
Whitefish Golf Course Opens
The Whitefish Lake Golf Course opened last Thursday with a completely full tee sheet on both courses. The surge of players is not at all a surprise as this normally happens on opening day if the weather is reasonable. I would think that all the time away from others and chomping to get outdoors may have amplified the desire to get to the golf course this year. The demand did diminish on Friday and Saturday even with unseasonably warm weather. We thank all our members for your support and welcome the new members to WLGC.
Member Handbooks Available
WLGC membership handbooks are available in the Golf Shop and hopefully the information included will explain how we operate at the course. Tee Time procedures and other aspects of the operation are explained and should be especially informative to our many first time members. We will gradually move the first tee time of the day up earlier as the weather improves and the amount of daylight increases. Please watch the website to track the changes in first tee times.
Tee Times Online
To reserve a tee time currently know that the phone (862-4000) is being answered at 9:30 a.m., which is the same time we take in person requests and open up available online tee times. As of April 28 the phone will be answered starting at 8:30 a.m. as will walk-up and tee time release. The club is continuing the online process initiated last summer that allows members and guests to book tee times online by going to our website, www.golfwhitefish.com, to register and reserve tee times. For now the inventory of times online are limited to afternoons only and you can still call 862-4000, or appear in person for the high demand morning tee times. The board of directors and staff extend our appreciation to Tim Olson and his marvelous staff for guiding us through the changes in our new POS system and tee sheet operations.
Course Conditions are Excellent
The golf course emerged out of winter in excellent shape with very little pain inflicted by Mother Nature. The winter preparations completed by our maintenance staff is to be thanked for great conditions we see this spring. Now with the help of some warm and wet weather the turf will begin to continue to grow and green up even more.
Cart Storage Fees Due
With the change in our online membership payment system it appears that a fair number of members did not complete the transaction to pay for on site golf cart storage in our facility. We understand that the system had a challenge for multiple purchases but we ask that you please pay your 2021 storage fee in the next couple of weeks.
