Stack Financial Management of Whitefish recently earned the top spot for the state of Montana in Barron’s 2021 “Top Advisor Rankings by State.”

An extensive list of criteria was used to determine this ranking, with SFM being particularly proud of its client retention rate of over 98% and assets under management, recently surpassing $1.5 billion.

“We are proud to have built a nationally recognized firm,” says James Stack, Chief Executive Officer. “And have shaped our business with a focus on team structure to ensure SFM will be here for our clients and their families for decades to come. Our goal is not to be the largest firm in the nation, but to be one of the best.”

Barron’s recognized a total of six advisors from Montana with SFM ranked No. 1.

This top ranking and growth reflect the entire SFM team’s dedication to serving their clients and having a positive impact on their lives, the firm notes, saying its team-centric approach and focus on active risk management are unique in the financial industry today.

“At most advisory firms you’re hiring a sole advisor under the umbrella of a firm,” says Zach Jonson, Chief Investment Officer. “At SFM, you’re a client of the firm and are hiring an entire team of seasoned professionals to help you navigate your financial future.”

Stack Financial Management works with high-net-worth individuals and families in 47 out of 50 states. SFM says it’s committed to growing in a very careful manner to ensure their clients continue to be at the center of everything they do, while providing their employees a place they love to work.

Stack Financial Management is an investment and wealth advisory firm founded in 1994 by James Stack, who also owns and operates InvesTech Research, an independent financial research firm. SFM is most well-known for its “safety-first” investment philosophy and client-first experience. SFM has been helping conservative minded investors preserve and grow their wealth for 27 years.
