Boys golf strokes on point in Frenchtown
Whitefish golfer Marcus Kliman earned medalist honors with a score of 77 at the Frenchtown Invitational Wednesday, Sept. 16 at King Ranch Golf Course.
Led by Kilman, four Bulldog golfers shot their way into the top 10 to take the boys team title. Whitefish had a score of 325, 15 strokes fewer than Polson who took second. Bulldog Johnny Nix scored 80 to take second in the boys individual results, followed by Bjorn Olson in sixth and Gates Gilman in seventh place.
Whitefish also competed at the Kalispell Invitational held at Buffalo Hill Golf Club the following day. Against bigger Class AA schools, like Glacier and Flathead, Whitefish took eighth place out of ten teams in the team results. The boys were led by Nix this time, who shot an 86.
Whitefish did not take a girls team to either invitational.
Bulldog Golf heads to the Western A Divisional Tournament this weekend, Friday through Saturday, at the Polson Country Club. The following week, Oct. 1-2, Whitefish will cap its outstanding season by competing in the Class A State Golf Tournament in Butte.
