Foundation opens fall grant cycle
The fall cycle of the Whitefish Community Foundation’s Community Grant Program will be accepting applications from Sept. 3 through Oct. 29.
The Whitefish Community Foundation supports nonprofit, charitable organizations that enhance the quality of life for residents of Flathead County, Montana. Since inception in 2000, the Community Grant Program has granted over $1.74 million to area nonprofits to support projects and programs in the areas of arts and culture, animals, civic life, conservation and the environment, education, health and human services, and recreation. Organizations may apply once annually for a Community Grant of up to $4,000, and must meet the following criteria:
• The organization is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charity or publicly-owned tax-exempt corporation OR a 501(c)(4) service organization or 501(c)(6) trade organization presenting a project or program that serves a charitable purpose in our community.
• The project/program serves residents of Flathead County.
• The organization did not participate in the 2020 Great Fish Community Challenge.
Community Grant program participation provides a solid stepping stone for nonprofits interested in applying to participate in the 2021 Great Fish Community Challenge, and is highly recommended for these organizations.
The COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund continues to provide flexible funding for nonprofit programs directly serving individuals impacted by the pandemic, and to nonprofits facing unforeseen financial challenges threatening their ability to operate.
The Whitefish Community Foundation is dedicated to fostering philanthropy, building endowments and helping donors and nonprofits benefit our community. For more information about the Community Foundation, visit www.whitefishcommunityfoundation.org or call 406-863-1781.
