Margaret “Martie” E. Jones Armstrong

Margaret “Martie” E. Jones Armstrong, 88, a loving mother and grandmother passed away on Sept. 22, 2020. 

Martie was born on May 6, 1932 in Spokane, Washington to Eli Jones and Alta Patterson Jones.  She enjoyed spending time watching her children and grandchildren’s sporting activities, bowling, playing softball and watching basketball.  Martie was also a member of the Whitefish Boat Club.  She lived in Whitefish for 50 years until moving to Columbia Falls in 2015.

She is survived by her children Debra Armstrong of Piedmont, Oklahoma; son Ronald (Maggie) Armstrong of Aloha, Oregon; Donald (Sue) Armstrong of Ogden, Utah; Randy (Leslie) Armstrong, Gail (Shorty) Shepard, Linda (Joe) Hutchens, and Donna Bruner all of Columbia Falls, Montana; son-in-law Melvin Norgaard of Whitefish, 20 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and multiple nieces and nephews.

Martie is preceded in death by her parents Eli and Alta Jones, husband Donald Armstrong, sister Maxine Jackson, daughter Maxine Norgaard, son Gordon Armstrong, grandson Shane Hankinson and great grandson Dakota Jetty.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
