Recycle correctly
To my knowledge, Whitefish has the only plastic recycling drop off in the valley. I appreciate that I can recycle it there, now that China has rejected most of our American trash due to people who won't follow directions.
Every time I go there, I see items incorrectly deposited. Recently I saw glass liquor bottles and a tarp or a tent in the plastic bin. I don't know if it's laziness or stupidity, but I find it hard to believe that people are so illiterate that they can't follow the sign that says "No brown paper bags" in the mixed paper bin.
How about the sign that says "No plastic bags" in the plastic bin? Guess what it means? Don't put your plastic bags in there. It takes extra effort to separate your trash for recycling and to make an additional stop to dump it.
Either do it with a true desire to help the environment or don't do it at all. So the next time you drive away from the site patting yourself on the back, make sure you've done it correctly. If not, you're sabotaging recycling for the rest of us, and you're a part of the problem, not the solution. You're going to make it so that we have no recycling options at all.
