Bulldog Open set for July 26
Member/Guest Tournament
The annual member/guest tournament is now open for registrations for the 2020 event that is set for Aug. 22 and 23 for the first 60 teams to register and pay their fees. This event will once again be a two person net best ball on Saturday followed by a modified Stapleford format on Sunday. As per USGA and PGA guidelines during the COVID-19 pandemic we will not be using a shotgun start but instead will send players off on tee times. The entry fee for each team is $400.00, which will include golf, prizes and some food. This popular event fills quickly so don’t hesitate if you want to play. Register using the online format at www.golfwhitefish.com for the member/guest.
Bulldog Open
The Bulldog is on for July 26 this year and there are a few spots available for registration. The best way to register is to go online and follow the Golf Genius program steps. This is a four-person scramble format with a step aside rule where a player does not hit the next shot if the team uses their previous shot. Help us raise funds for Junior Golf and the WHS golf teams through this fun tournament and fundraiser.
Calm down
Sergio Garcia has a habit of gripping and re-gripping his club while getting ready to swing. While most players don’t do what Sergio does, lots of them do change their grip pressure at the top of their swing which alters the club face position causing inconsistency in the shot. Try to establish your grip in a calm manner and maintain the same grip pressure throughout the swing. Mike Dowaliby used the analogy of holding a live bird that you didn’t want to get away and you did not want to hurt. A slow take away will help you maintain consistent grip pressure.
