Swimmers take third, fifth in Missoula

The Bulldogs swam with the best last weekend in Missoula, finishing third and fifth as a team.

The boys took third overall at the Missoula County Public Schools Invitational, finishing just behind Bozeman and Missoula Sentinel.

Preston Ring took a pair of seconds in the 100 breaststroke (1:03.39) and the 200 IM (2:03.33), while Logan Botner notched a second in the 100 butterfly (56.70) and third in the 200 freestyle (1:56.00).

Nicholas Starring took second in the 500 freestyle (5:25.98).

In relays, Whitefish took fourth in the 200 medley (1:51.94) and third in the 400 relay (3:49.24).

On the girls side, the team took fifth overall but had one individual champion.

Ada Qunell won the 100 freestyle outright (54.22) and also took fourth in the 100 breaststroke (1:16.75).

Helena Kunz also took fourth in the 500 freestyle (5:46.48).

The 200 relay team took third (1:52.10).

This week the team heads to the Great Falls Invite, which starts at noon on Saturday.
