Bulldogs nip Wildcats in rivalry swim battle

It was a solid showing for Whitefish at the Cat-Dog Invitational last Saturday.
In overall combined scores for girls and boys, Whitefish beat out Columbia Falls head-to-head, though the Wildcats boys did beat out the Whitefish boys separately.
On the boys side, Preston Ring continued his dominance with a pair of firsts in the 50 freestyle and the 100 freestyle. Kelvin and Aaron Dicks took up second and third in the 100 freestyle.
Nicholas Starring took first in the 200 freestyle and the 500 freestyle, while Logan Botner won the 100 butterfly.
On the girls side, Nia Hanson, Helena Kunz and Ada Qunell showed up to compete.
Hanson took second in the 200 freestyle while Kunz took first in the 200 intermediate and second in 100 butterfly.
Qunell won the 50 freestyle and the 100 butterfly.
In relays, both the boys and girls won the 200 medley relay and the 200 freestyle relay.
The team’s next competition is at the Butte Invite on Saturday.
