Council reorganizes at first meeting of year

Mayor John Muhlfeld and three City Councilors were sworn into office last week at the first meeting of 2020.

Muhlfeld begins his third term in office serving as mayor after running unopposed in last fall’s election.

Returning Councilor Frank Sweeney, after being sworn in for his third full term on Council, was elected by Council to serve as Deputy Mayor.

Councilors Steve Qunell and Rebecca Norton were also sworn into office beginning their first terms in office.

Mulhfeld gave outgoing Councilors Richard Hildner and Katie Williams plaques and thanked them for their hard work volunteering to serve the city. Both chose not to seek re-election.

Appointments of City Council members to various boards, commissions, and committees was also made.
