The Lady Bulldogs had a tough end to their winter vacation Friday, falling to Browning 67-24.

Head coach Bob Bolam didn’t mince words when discussing the game.

“It wasn’t very good for us,” he said. “The final score was not in our liking, so we’re hoping to get better to be better down the road.”

The loss puts Whitefish at 1-5 overall heading into a busy three-game week.

Bolam said unforced errors on offense was his team’s Achilles Heel in the Browning game.

“The difference in this game is we didn’t commit turnovers due to backcourt pressure, we just committed turnovers in our offense. They put up a good man defense in the first half and we didn’t react well to it,” Bolam said.

On Tuesday after press time the team faced off against Ronan. On Thursday they’ll face off against Eureka, and then on Saturday they’ll host Hamilton.

That game will be at 4 p.m. at Whitefish High School.

Bolam said it’s still about tightening up the fundamentals, which will be hard without a lot of practice time this week.

“I think a lot of it is just going to be developing our skills still. We need to become better basketball players and we need to develop our depth,” he said. “With three games against three good opponents we don’t have a lot of time to practice. There’ll be a lot of learning in games. Do the best we can do and look for some little victories.”
