'Lethal Control' film presentation
Footloose Montana on Feb. 26 is hosting a showing the film “Lethal Control” by Missoula-based filmmaker Jamie Drysdale at the Grouse Mountain Lodge, 2 Fairway Dr. from 6-8 p.m.
The film looks at the impacts of M-44’s on a young Idaho boy, his dog and an older man in Utah that were impacted by these cyanide bombs. Wildlife Services state office is based in Billings. Last year, Wildlife Services killed more than 3.2 million animals in all 50 states. The film is poignant and compelling and tells the story of the danger and arrogance in which these bombs are placed on public and private lands and the dramatic impact they have on all types of wildlife, family pets and people.
The killing of predators disregards sound science that shows predators to be self-regulating.
Footloose Montana is a nonprofit based in Missoula that supports ending trappings on public lands and waters in Montana. In 2016, the group launched a citizen’s initiative which garnered more than 186,000 votes opposing trapping in Montana. Footloose is currently working on ending trapping in the urban interface, ending M-44’s and demanding signage on trails and roads where trapping exists.
