Credit Union donates $1,265 to school

| February 25, 2020 1:34 PM

Through Whitefish Credit Union’s innovative School Spirit Debit Card campaign, the credit union recently made a donation of $1,265 to Whitefish High School.

The high school spends the donations based on their unique needs, and in the past these funds have been put towards supporting STEM programs, athletic teams and classroom materials.

Whitefish Credit Union’s High School Spirit Debit Card program allows members to choose a MasterCard debit card featuring their chosen high school’s color and logo. When a new card is issued, the credit union donates $5 to the school displayed on that card. The financial cooperative is currently partnered with Bigfork High School, Columbia Falls High School, Flathead High School, Glacier High School, Lincoln County High School, Polson High School, Thompson Falls High School and Whitefish High School.

“Each community we serve has a strong relationship with their local high school,” said Josh Wilson, Vice President of Marketing for Whitefish Credit Union. “We are proud to support our local high schools and give our members another opportunity to show their school spirit.”

Since the program began, the credit union has donated more than $33,000 to high schools around its communities. Members can request a High School Spirit Debit Card anytime at any of Whitefish Credit Union’s local branches located in Columbia Falls, Eureka, Downtown Kalispell, South Kalispell, Polson, Thompson Falls and Whitefish.

Whitefish Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial institution and the largest credit union in Montana with over 55,000 members and more than $1.5 billion in assets.
