Foundation awards grant to ATP
Whitefish Community Foundation has announced a Major Community Project Grant Award of $10,000 to Alpine Theatre Project for the purchase of 20 wireless microphones that will support their ATP Kids and professional theatre productions.
ATP’s current 600 MHz microphones experience periods of complete drop out during shows due to wireless networks like T-Mobile network expanding into the Flathead. These networks were recently granted licenses to operate in the 600 MHz frequency range, which overthrows other devices on the same frequency. The newly purchased microphones will operate in a lower frequency range, thus solving the problem.
Whitefish Community Foundation is proud to support this capital expense that will be well used in ATP’s many productions throughout the year, including professional theatre, theatrical concerts, and educational programs, like its ATP Kids program, according to a release.
The ATP Kids program serves more than 300 children from all over the Flathead each year. The program has grown so much that in 2020, ATP will add a session for grades one through eighth in the late spring. The mission of ATP Kids is to foster confidence, creativity, collaboration, and empathy in local students through participation in theatre. No student is ever turned away, resulting in over 20% of students receiving scholarship assistance.
