Chamber's Christmas Tree Shopping Spree begins
The Whitefish Chamber of Commerce is offering a way to support small businesses this holiday season with its Christmas Tree Shopping Spree.
The event runs through Dec. 11 at businesses throughout the city. Shoppers use receipts from their purchases at Whitefish business to earn raffle tickets to win one of eight Christmas trees with prizes worth $500 or more.
“To enter, all folks have to do is do a little shopping – or maybe have lunch or dinner – at a Whitefish business between now and Dec. 11,” said Chamber Director Kevin Gartland, “and for every $20 they spend, they’ll earn a raffle ticket and a chance to win one or more of the amazing prize packages our sponsors have put together.”
Customers must bring their paper receipts to the chamber offices, located at 505 Second Street E. in Whitefish, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, to claim their raffle tickets and enter them in the drawing for the Christmas Tree of their choice.
Two prize packages will be raffled off each day, Dec. 8 and Dec. 11, so the earlier you get out and shop, the more chances you’ll have to win!
The tree shopping spree is similar to a giveaway usually held at the chamber’s annual Christmas Stroll, but that event was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The Christmas Tree Shopping Spree is an expansion of the popular Shopper’s Drawings we do each year during the Christmas Stroll,” Gartland said. “We can’t do the stroll this year for obvious reasons, but we’re still hoping folks will turn out to support our local businesses — our friends and neighbors. That’s what ‘shopping small and local’ is all about.”
Local businesses that have provided a Christmas tree prize package include Whitefish Mountain Resort, Park Side Credit Union, the Montana Wilderness Association, Alpine Apothecary, Glacier Bank, The Village Shop, Stumptown Art Studio, Sappari Gallery and the Whitefish Credit Union.
