Whitefish boys golf team dominates two early season invitationals
If the first two tournaments of the season are any indication, the Whitefish boys golf team is primed to have a successful 2020 season.
On Monday the boys golf team had a dominating performance at their home tournament, the Whitefish Invitational on Monday. Led by Cameron Kahle (68) and Billy Smith (75), the boys team cruised to an overall victory with a team score of 305, Polson came in second at 351. Rounding out the placings was Johnny Nix in third and Bjorn Olson in fourth.
Last week at the Polson Triangular, the Whitefish boys blew away the team competition shooting an impressive 297 with all five boys breaking 80. This time led by Smith who shot two under 70.
On the girls side, the team had a great showing at the Whitefish Invitational as well. The girls came in second behind Polson with a score of 398, only five strokes shy of first place. The girls were led by Kendall Reed who shot 95 and took third place in the girls individual scoring. Maddie Sramek, Anyah Cripe and Anna Elm came in places five through seven, respectively.
At the Polson Triangular the Whitefish girls finished third recording a 422 team score. Reed again led the girls team, coming in fifth in individual scoring with a score of 97.
