Golf takes gold, silver in Frenchtown

The Bulldogs split first and second place honors at the Frenchtown Invitational last Thursday.

The Lady Dogs ran away with the team title with a two-day score of 750, while the boys finished second behind Hamilton.

Ella Shaw was Whitefish’s top finisher, taking second place with scores of 86 and 88 (174 combined). Kendall Reed and Megan Archibald finished just behind at fourth and sixth. Reed shot a combined 189 while Archibald recorded a 191.

Anyah Cripe also took 11th (200) and Anna Elm 13th (202).

On the boys side, Cameron Kahle took third. He shot a 75 on the first day and 76 the following day for a combined 151, 10 strokes behind first place Tristan Hanson of Hamilton.

Jonny Nix was the team’s next highest finisher at eighth place, shooting a combined 166. Andrew took 18th (177), Bjorn Olson 21st (181) and Gates Gilman 27th (193).

This week JV golf will head back down for their own Frenchtown Invite, while the varsity will play in Libby on Friday, starting at 10 a.m.
