Harriers get off to a fast start at Libby Invite

The Bulldogs cross country got a nice start to their season, taking second and third at the Libby Invitational on Saturday.

The girls team finished second behind Columbia Falls, while the boys team took third behind Columbia Falls and Eureka.

Josephine Vardell was the top finisher for the Lady Dogs, taking second (20:47.8). Just behind was Jessica Henson at third (20:54.3).

Paetra Cooke took 10th (22:53.0) and Kelsey Macdonald 26th (28:08.9).

On the boys side, Miles Vrentas led the way with a seventh-place finish (17.54.3).

Jacob Bailey took ninth (18:05.2), Bridger Gaertner 11th (18:08.5) and Jacob Henson 20th (20:03.2). Christian Kyle (20:32.6), Aidan Calaway (21:02.1) and Cole Cameron (21:07.8) took spots 22 through 24 as well.

Next on the schedule for the team is the Cut Bank Invitational on Friday, which begins at 4 p.m.
