Courses closed, simulator open at Whitefish Lake Golf Club

Winding down another year

2019 was another great year at Whitefish Lake Golf Club with member and guest rounds very much as projected. The weather was very cooperative with the right amount of timely rain and fortunately we escaped without having smoke to force players to skip their rounds. Our greens crew did an outstanding job of keeping the course in primo shape all summer with greens that ran smooth and true and well-trimmed fairways. Doug Reed and his staff along with Tim Olson and staff did a remarkable job again this past golf season and both the restaurant and golf shop remain open for your dining and shopping pleasure.

Simulator open for action

The Golf Simulator at WLGC is open and ready for lessons as well as leisure rounds on a wide variety of popular courses on display. Golf Professional Christine Newton is the person to contact to schedule either a lesson on practice session on the simulator. Call the Shop at 862-5960 to reserve time on the simulator.

Keep your swing tuned

The best way I know to keep your swing in sync over the winter is to actually swing a club at least 20 times every day. Do a really slow motion swing, take at least one full minute or more to complete the swing to develop muscle memory and then make a few swings in real time. Stretching on a daily basis is good for all of us, young and old, so if you can’t do so on your own head to the gym and keep loose.

Thanks to all our members

WLGC really wants to thank all our members for continuing to support the Whitefish Lake Golf Club. The board and staff are now busy planning for next year and look forward to making improvements to the facility. Next year I am sure we will renovate a couple of cart paths and bunkers and are scheduled to expand the South Course practice putting green as well. Our member input as always is appreciated as we enter the planning stages for next season.
