The Lady Dogs came close, but couldn’t take down the Wildkats last Tuesday night on the volleyball court.

After a dominant first set by Columbia Falls, Whitefish came out to play in the second set.

The Lady Dogs kept things within one or two points all the way through, and grew their lead out to 22-19. But a few errant bumps and good plays by the Wildkats, and Whitefish found themselves in an 0-2 hole.

They didn’t give up, though, forcing the third set to go to 27-25.

Full set scores were 25-15, 25-22, 27-25, all in favor of the Wildkats, who are now 8-0 in conference play.

Over the weekend the team competed in the Missoula County Public Schools tournament. Results from that were unavailable.

This week the team starts to wrap up its regular season schedule.

On Tuesday after press time they traveled to Bigfork for one of three road battles to come. On Thursday they’ll head south to Polson, with that game starting around 7 p.m.

Then that following Monday they’ll travel to Browning for their final regular season match.
