Celebration for new Whitefish Trail section at Beaver Lake set for Thursday
Whitefish Legacy Partners is celebrating the newest addition of the Whitefish Trail on Thursday, Oct. 17 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Beaver Lake Fishing Access Site on Beaver Lake Road west of Whitefish.
The “beaver tail” trail connects the South Beaver Loop to the lakeshore of Beaver Lake, creating a wonderful mid-ride or hike destination for a picnic, swim, or quiet moment beside the lake. Along with the new trail, lakeshore improvements have created a new viewing platform, better swimming access, and improved parking to serve trail users, anglers, boaters, and picnickers.
This new addition was made possible with funding from the MT Recreational Trails Program, REI Kalispell, and Paul and Wendy Faganel.
Whitefish Legacy Partners along with the City of Whitefish, Department of Natural Resources and Conservation, and Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks will be hosting a public grand opening celebration at the Beaver Lake Fishing Access Site. Great Northern Brewing Company will be holding for Pints with Purpose for Whitefish Legacy Partners the same evening.
