Police Calls: Car kicked on Central, bad biking behavior on Spokane

Wednesday, Sept. 25

9:34 a.m. The caller’s neighbor killed several of his bushes and trees with herbicide.

10:43 a.m. Tools were stolen from the back of a truck parked on Baker Avenue overnight.

1:51 p.m. An observant caller was worried something was wrong after walking by a Birch Hill home with an open front door.

8:42 p.m. A woman who had her phone stolen downtown also claimed to have found human remains while running from a Los Angeles-based gang.

11:14 p.m. A renegade dog with a purple bandanna was on the run.

Thursday, Sept. 26

5:31 p.m. A driver flipped his vehicle on Edgewood Driver.

9:56 p.m. A black bear was in the caller’s neighbor’s yard, tearing something up.

Friday, Sept. 27

1:54 a.m. An unruly man had to be physically escorted to his hotel room.

7:52 a.m. Three guns were stolen from a vehicle on Houston Point Drive.

11:04 a.m. A black bear ran across Baker Avenue.

5:06 p.m. A caller wanted to know if the man panhandling on Baker Avenue was doing anything illegal.

7:04 p.m. A black bear was going through yards along baker Avenue.

9:22 p.m. A possibly drunk driver nearly hit the caller on First Street.

Saturday, Sept. 28

1:09 a.m. One person was unconscious after a fight broke out at a Central Avenue location.

1:52 p.m. A fire broke out at a Second Street restaurant.

7:29 p.m. A group of suspicious boys with skateboards smelled like marijuana.

Sunday, Sept. 29

1:22 a.m. Despite getting kicked out, a man kept trying to enter a downtown bar from the back entrance.

3:08 a.m. A man was spotted kicking a white Honda on Central Avenue.

Monday, Sept. 30

12:55 a.m. A caller reported numerous vehicle break-ins on Lupfer Avenue.

7:52 a.m. A caller hit a dog while driving his kid to school.

5:19 p.m. The caller reported a theft at a Second Street business.

7:07 p.m. A driver nearly hit the caller before flipping him off near Central Avenue.

Tuesday, Oct. 1

10:05 a.m. A Second Street business was missing about $200 in cash after an overnight break in.

11:55 a.m. A lesson about the boy who cried wolf was given to a young student who faked passing out to get out of class.

12:08 p.m. A black bear left some scat and a mess of garbage on a Murray Avenue lawn.

2:38 p.m. White supremacist literature was found in a downtown store.

7:59 p.m. Two teenage boys on bikes kept pulling out in front of cars along Spokane Avenue.
