Whitefish blanks Libby 6-0 in homecoming match
The Lady Dogs took care of business in their homecoming matchup against Libby on Saturday, winning 6-0.
Anna Cook led the offensive charge for Whitefish, scoring four goals despite the windy weather.
Cook got the scoring started just four minutes into the game off a Josie Schneider assist.
Sophie Olson, assisted by Adrienne Healy, added a second goal just two minutes later.
Cook’s second and third goals came unassisted in the 38th and 54th minute to complete the hat trick, and she tacked on one more in the 63rd minute, assisted by Grace Benkelman.
Sofie Saurey put the finishing touch on the win with a goal in the 72nd minute, assisted by Anna Akey.
Whitefish amassed 29 shots on goal to Libby’s two.
This week the team got a second look at Columbia Falls on Tuesday after press time. On Thursday, they’ll host Bigfork for Senior Night. That match will start at 5:30 p.m. at Smith Fields.
