The Lady Dogs took care of business last week, taking down the Ronan Maidens in four sets at home.

Whitefish won in sets of 25-16, 20-25, 25-21 and 25-13.

Luci Ridgeway served five aces and Kaiah Moore had 19 digs for the team, and the pair combined for 21 of Whitefish’s 39 kills.

Jenny Patten and Mikenna Ells added 16 and 14 assists, respectively.

Head coach Addy Connelly said she was happy with the way her team played, despite a dip in the second set.

“We did pretty good. We had a little bit of a lull in the second game, they had an injury and that always rattles you,” she said. “It was nice to see the same team again.”

Whitefish was also set to host Browning on Saturday, but that match was canceled due to the weekend’s winter storms.

This week the Bulldogs headed to Libby on Tuesday after press time. Over the weekend they’ll head down to the Bitterroot to face off against Corvallis and Hamilton.

The following Tuesday they’ll host Polson on Senior Night, which will start after 7 p.m. at the high school.

Connelly said the focus right now is to speed up her team’s game.

“There’s always room for improvement, but in practice were working on quicker sets and a quicker off now that we have settled into a rotation. I’m excited about that moving forward and upping our game a bit,” she said.

Whitefish: Aces — 7 (Luci Ridgeway 5); Kills — 39 (Ridgeway 11, Kaiah Moore 10); Assists — 31 (Jenny Patten 16, Mikenna Ells 14); Blocks — 7 (Jadi Walburn 4); Digs — 58 (Moore 19, Jasmine Matern 11, Ridgeway 11).
