Glacier Nordic Club’s youth programs for this season kick off on Dec. 3.

Chet Hope Youth Ski League, a learn to country ski program for ages 4–12 is holding an open house on Dec. 3 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Glacier Cyclery in downtown Whitefish. CHYSL runs for seven weeks starting the first week of January.

CHYSL participants learn to classic ski and improve their technique through fun on the snow. Participants can choose from a Monday afternoon session in Columbia Falls or Whitefish Saturday morning or Wednesday afternoon sessions. The cost for each session is $50.

This season, through a partnership with DREAM Adaptive Recreation, CHYSL is being offered to youth with cognitive and physical disabilities, allowing them to join their peers on the snow.

GNC also offers ski programs for older youth, teens and adults. Gear rentals and scholarships are available for all youth programs.
