| November 12, 2019 10:08 AM

The Flathead Valley Ski Education Foundation is holding two fall events this month.

Warren Miller’s movie “Timeless” will play at the O’Shaughnessy in Whitefish on Nov. 15 and 16. This 70th-anniversary film features ski legends like Glen Plake, alongside newcomers Caite Zeliff, Jaelin Kauf, and Baker Boyd. Road-trip with rippers from Arlberg to the Matterhorn, be immersed in the hometown hill of Eldora and discover a different side of Jackson Hole, plus much more.

Doors open both nights at 6 p.m. with selected short ski films at 6:30 p.m. and “Timeless” playing at 7 p.m. Tickets are available online at www.FVSEF.org. Cost is $16.74 for adults and $11.49 for student in advance or at the door tickets are $18 and $15.

The 13th annual gourmet dinner, wine tasting and auction Showcase of the Chefs “Celebrating the Season Passholder” will take place at The Lodge at Whitefish Lake on Thursday, Nov. 21. This year the showcase is being dedicated to all season passholders, recent or long-standing, die-hard or fair weather, weekend warrior or million-foot vertical contender. Present your season pass, new or old, from Whitefish Mountain Resort or any other ski area, at the registration table to be entered for door prizes and special prizes for oldest Big Mountain pass, oldest non-Big Mountain pass, most passes (bring a photo of your collection) and best and worst pass picture.

The gourmet dinner selections will feature the chefs and entrées from Tupelo, Wasabi, Whitefish Lake Restaurant, The Boat Club and Three Forks Grille, along with wine selections carefully paired for each entrée.

Highlighting this year’s auction is a five-night/four-day summer adventure in Hood River, Oregon. Other auction items include a gallery wrapped giclee by award- winning Whitefish artist Colt Idol, weekend ski trips to Big Sky, Fernie, Schweitzer and the Isaac Walton Inn, guided fly-fishing trips, collector’s wine and liquor offerings, artwork, jewelry, ski apparel and equipment, gift baskets from merchants all around the Valley and many more items.

Again this year, there will be an opportunity for absentee bidding at the auction for people who are interested in participating, but can’t be present at the event. For an updated list of auction items as well as absentee bidding instructions, contact tim.hinderman@fvsef.org.

Tickets are $75 per person in advance, $85 at the door. Advance tickets are available online at www.fvsef.org, and at Sportsman Ski Haus in Kalispell and Whitefish, Great Northern Cycle & Ski and the Lodge at Whitefish Lake.

All proceeds from both events benefit the Flathead Valley Ski Education Foundation.
