The summer season at Whitefish Mountain Resort is set for another early start this year as the resort opens for Memorial Day weekend.

For the second year, the resort is inviting visitors on Saturday, May 25 to enjoy the Zip Line Tours, Aerial Adventure Park, Scenic Lift Rides and mountain biking in the Bad Rock Zone and cross country trails. Additional activities will open up as the snow melts, and the resort will be open daily beginning June 16 through Labor Day and will remain open on weekends until Sept. 22.

The Summit House Restaurant and Bar and the Base Lodge will be open as well.

This summer WMR is adding a second Alpine Slide and redesigning the first, a $675,000 project in total. Both slides, to be renamed Meadow and Forest, will start at the Lift Plaza and finish at the Base Lodge. Chair 6 will be free for transporting guests and sleds from the Base Lodge to the Plaza. One of the slides will open June 15, while the other will open July 1.

WMR is also offering winter passholder discounts for the first few weekends, with 50 percent off all summer activities and 20 percent off food. Passholders must bring their 2018-19 winter passes for the discounts.

“We are excited to welcome summer and provide our guests with mountain experiences for all ages and interests. Our family-friendly amenities offer many ways for all ages to play on the mountain. Coupled with affordable lodging and exceptional service they bring our guests back year after year,” Whitefish Mountain Resort CEO Dan Graves said in a prepared release. “Part of last winter’s success was certainly due to the loyalty of our passholders who helped set a new record for vertical feet skied as well as helping us set a new skier visit record. We want to welcome our passholders back to the mountain for some summer fun by offering half off summer activities for the first three weekends.”

In May and June, guests who visit the resort can take advantage of early season pricing on Zip Line Tours and the Aerial Adventure Park. From May 25 through June 28 the five-zip tour is $51 and the seven-zip tour is $59 per person, and the Aerial Adventure Park is $42 for ages 13 and up and $32 for kids ages 7-12.

Guests can go to skiwhitefish.com and pre-purchase discounted tickets for the Alpine Slide, Scenic Lift and the Whitefish Bike Park.
