WHS sends 28 to DECA conference

Whitefish High School once again got a student on stage at DECA ICDC (International Career Development Conference). Elizabeth Campbell, a junior, scored in the Top 10 in the world for her competitive event case-study. Her event was Apparel and Accessories Marketing and the case-study topic was Economics. There were five total students from Montana that made the podium with the other four from Bozeman High School.

Whitefish High School earned the most top performers at ICDC with 15 students earning a Certificate of Excellence (Scoring a 70 percent or higher on their competitive event) which is incredibly difficult, according to WHS. Out of 50 students in the state to get a Certificate of Excellence, Whitefish High School had 15 of them. Certificates were awarded to:

- Ian Grover — Start-Up Business Plan

- Alex Gunset — School-Based Enterprise

- Niko Hunter — Principles of Finance

- Olivia Potthoff — School-Based Enterprise

- Reagan Retz — Integrated Marketing Campaign - Event

- Blaine Thew — Integrated Marketing Campaign - Event

- Maile Vine — Principles of Hospitality & Tourism

- Keegan Wold — Sports & Entertainment Marketing

The Conference spanned four days in Orlando with more than 23,000 students from all over the world competing.

Whitefish High School took 28 students to the Conference, the most ever for the team. Willie Roche is head advisor and Chad Ross, Kala Johnston, and Joel Welle chaperoned.
