A former preschool teacher from Osgood, Indiana, has been announced as the winner of the HGTV dream home on Big Mountain.

Beverly Fulkerson was drawn as the winner from nearly 135 million entries, according to HGTV, and has been a fan of HGTV home giveaways for more than 20 years.

The total prize package including the house is valued at more than $2.3 million — the largest giveaway in HGTV history.

The 3,700-square-foot custom built home with timber frame architecture includes easy access to Whitefish Mountain Resort and has views of Whitefish Lake. The home was conceived by Timber Forge Design, built by Malmquist Construction, and designed by Brian Patrick Flynn.

Fulkerson has never traveled to Montana before, according to HGTV, and the incredible mountain-side views first caught her attention.

“I would love to be sitting on that porch — and in that hot tub,” she said in a release.

Fulkerson was recently surprised during a family gathering with the announcement that she had won. She and her husband are expected to get a chance to see the home for the first time in the coming weeks.

Viewers can witness her reaction to the ambush and the home itself by watching the HGTV Dream Home 2019 Giveaway Special premiering Friday, May 24 at 3 p.m. MDT on HGTV.

The HGTV Dream Home 2019 is described as “mountain modern” and includes three bedrooms, three-and-a-half baths with a great room with floor-to-ceiling accordion windows that open to an expansive outdoor living area. An upper deck and lower patio provide dining and lounging areas, grill, fireplace, and a Scandinavian hot tub.

In addition to the home, the giveaway includes, the redesigned 2019 Honda Pilot Elite, plus $250,000 from Rocket Mortgage® by Quicken Loans®.
