Two seats up for election on school board

Two Trustee positions on the Whitefish School Board are up for election this spring.

Current Trustees Nick Polumbus and Anna Deese are up for re-election.

Polumbus has served on the board since 2013 and currently serves as the board chair. He holds a bachelor’s degree in communication and a master’s of business administration from the University of Colorado and moved to Whitefish in 2007 to become the Director of Marketing and Sales at Whitefish Mountain Resort. He and his wife, Kim, have three boys in Whitefish Schools.

Anna Deese became a trustee in 2016. She holds a bachelor’s of science in Biology from Indiana University and earned her teaching credentials at Northwestern University. She has experience in the military as a management consultant and has taught in both rural and urban settings. She is a National Board Certified Teacher and the Associate Director of Project CRISS, an educational consulting and professional development company. She and her husband, Charlie, moved to Whitefish in 2011 and have a son that will start in Muldown next fall.

The deadline for applying for one of the three-year positions on the board is March 28.
