The Glacier Avalanche Peewee A won the Montana Amateur Hockey Association’s 12U Division A state championship Sunday in Billings.

The 12-player team defeated Billings (6-2), Missoula (6-4), and Helena (8-0) to advance as the top seed in Sunday’s championship.

The Glacier Avalanche beat the Billings Bulls, 5-1, in the championship game.

The win represents Glacier’s third consecutive Montana state A title for the 2006 birth year members of the team based in Whitefish. The team’s record is 30-8-1 in league and tournament play across Montana and Western Canada.

The team also played in British Columbia’s (Canada) East Kootenay League this year and placed second in the Peewee A championship against Kimberley on Feb. 24 in Cranbrook.
