Whitefish Storytime

| June 18, 2019 3:54 PM

Local organizations have again partnered to provide free programs highlighting literacy and nutrition this summer.

Whitefish Storytime takes place at North Valley Food Bank Thursdays, June 20 through Aug. 22 at 11 a.m. Children can enjoy stories, a craft and a healthy snack provided by the Food Bank.

Lunch & A Story runs Tuesdays, June 25 through Aug. 20, at the Library at 10:45 a.m. and provides free sack lunches for those under 18, with a story and related craft in the Library’s Community Room.

“Whitefish Education Foundation, Whitefish Community Library, North Valley Food Bank, and Whitefish Summer Food program partner to make these programs run,” said Whitefish Librarian Mary Drew Powers. “We know that in summer, students slide backwards if they don’t continue to practice literacy skills. We also know that many families depend on nutrition available during the school year. The storytimes hope to address those issues.”

While the programs are targeted to ages 5-8, all ages are welcome to attend.
